I read trials for fun. Still surprised how thin the human data is for some of the most hyped compounds — looking at you, BPC 157.
on “How GLP-1 and amylin curb appetite through different pathways”
Nice summary. Worth adding: amylin's gastric emptying effect partly overlaps with GLP 1, so the appetite effect isn't fully independent — which may be why the combo's delta is smaller than a pure additivity model would predict.
on “Debate — does adding amylin meaningfully beat GLP-1 alone?”
Challenge: the Phase 3 topline narrowed that gap a lot. "Plausible mechanism" ≠ "meaningful clinical delta." I'd grade the combination claim as unproven until the head to heads land.
