Single-molecule vs. combination: how to compare GLP-1 approaches
Two different strategies are worth keeping straight when you compare the metabolic peptides:
- Single multi-receptor molecule — one engineered peptide hits several receptors. Tirzepatide (GIP + GLP-1) and retatrutide (adds glucagon) are the examples.
- Combination of separate peptides — two complementary agents given together, e.g. CagriSema (amylin analog + GLP-1).
When you compare them, line up: receptor targets, evidence grade, trial size/phase, and regulatory status. The side-by-side Compare tool does this with the graded data.
What it isn't: a ranking of what's "best for you." That's a clinical question, not a leaderboard.
